C4 corvette, a Beautiful Classic Car

The production of the C4 Corvette started in 1983 and ended in June 1996. This Corvette got a complete redesign compared to the C3 and the first C4 was powered by a  5.7 litre L83 V8 engine. This engine delivered 205 Hp and 295 lb ft of torque and was already introduced in 1982 in the C3 Corvette. The hatchback version was the most popular one in 1984. Well-known is the hatchback made out of glass.

This beauty was also used in the tv series the A-team in the 80s, driven by Face.

The L98 engine was introduced in 1985 and was more powerful with 230Hp and 330 lb ft of torque. This engine was also more fuel efficient than its predecessor. In 1986 the convertible was re-introduced and used as the Pace Car for the Indianapolis 500. During this year General Motors also acquired Lotus, a British performance car manufacturer. Lotus was asked to build the world's fastest production car. Of course the basis was the C4 Corvette. The result was the LT5 engine, a 32 valves V8 aluminium block. The ZR-1 got 375 Hp and was introduced to the public in 1990. This version was very quick and accelerated from 0 - 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. It could reach a top speed of  more than 180 Mph. This engine was also known for its robustness and reliability and set some world and international records at a test track in Fort Stockton, Texas which were verified by the FIA.
